Daniel is a Panamanian attorney with a strong international profile and a practice focused on corporate, real estate, regulatory and dispute resolution matters. He advises both local and international clients on cross-border structuring, high-value real estate investments, and complex legal and regulatory compliance matters involving Panama and global frameworks.
As an associate at Patton, Moreno & Asvat, Daniel regularly advises on construction and infrastructure projects including the negotiation and drafting of engineering and consultancy agreements across various standards, not limited to FIDIC. He also has experience advising banks and institutional clients on repo transactions governed by the GMRA, as well as handling arbitration and litigation strategy in civil, commercial, maritime, and investment-related disputes.
His regulatory work includes the incorporation and licensing of SEM companies, implementation of FATCA and CRS protocols, and assisting HNWIs and multinational clients in investment migration procedures such as the Qualified Investor Visa. He also advises on international information exchange procedures and the structuring of entities to meet evolving global tax transparency requirements.
Daniel holds an LL.M. in International Arbitration from the University of Miami School of Law, where he was awarded a Merit Scholarship and the Director’s Award in Investment Arbitration and Latin American Arbitration.
He obtained his law degree from Universidad Santa María La Antigua in Panama, graduating Cum Laude.
