Prequalification process David & Rio Hato airports

Panama is moving forward with the process to select a specialized operator for the international airports of David and Rio Hato. | Panama's Cabinet has authorized Tocumen International Airport, S.A. (AITSA) to initiate the prequalification process for the operation, maintenance and execution of works at Enrique Malek International Airport in David and Scarlett Martinez International Airport in Rio Hato.

The preliminary timetable provides for the prequalification process to begin in October 2026, followed by the request for proposals in January 2027 and an anticipated award in March 2027.

Under the proposed model, AITSA will retain ownership of both airports, with more than US$25 million in initial investments contemplated, in addition to replacement investments during the term of the contract.
