The National Government, through the Cabinet Council, approved on July 29, 2025, Decree No. 31-25, authorizing the importation of 90,000 quintals of green coffee beans under a tariff quota due to supply shortages.
Import validity: until 30 November 2025
Import Tariff (DAI): 3% on the importation of green coffee beans identified as raw material.
Currently, Panama produces 148,000 quintals of coffee, compared to an annual consumption of 230,000 quintals, resulting in a structural deficit. This situation creates a strategic investment opportunity for companies seeking to secure their raw materials, guarantee production, and meet market demand.
