Panama will grant concessions for Tocumen International Airport and the Regional Airports of Chiriquí, Río Hato, and Colón

The President of the Republic of Panama, José Raúl Mulino, has informed on the possibility of granting a concession for the administration of Tocumen International Airport, the country's main air terminal. Previously, the Government announced the possible concession of the administration of the regional airports of Colon, Rio Hato and the city of David, in Chiriqui, all under the management of the state-owned Aeropuerto Internacional de Tocumen S.A. (AITSA).

Tocumen International Airport is Panama's most important air terminal, in operation since June 1, 1947. Currently, 33 airlines operate in its facilities, of which 16 are dedicated to passenger transport and 17 to cargo.

It is expected that in the coming months the National Government will define a roadmap for the bidding and granting of these concessions.
